POLOKWANE – A second suspect in the kidnapping case against Berdine Jordaan has been arrested.
The Hawks, on Tuesday confirmed that Leon du Preez (34) was arrested after investigations. Jordaan and the 14-year-old victim were found hiding at Du Preez’s house in Musina at the time they were reported to have been kidnapped.
Jordaan (29) was arrested on 27 July for defeating the ends of justice, kidnapping and perjury after she allegedly lied about being kidnapped. “Jordaan was questioned and it was discovered that she was the one who kidnapped the 14-year-old girl.”
Du Preez appeared in the Polokwane Magistrate Court on 15 August 2016 for kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice. He was granted R2000 bail and will appear again in the Polokwane Magistrate Court together with Jordaan who is also out on bail on 20 September 2016.
