Caster Semenya is one step closer to glory after winning the women’s 800 m semi finals at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this morning (Friday).
Semenya comfortably won in a time of 1:58:15, just over one second better than her time in the first heat.
All eyes will be on Aganang born and raised Semenya when she steps up to the starting line on Sunday morning at 02:15 South African time.
Having produced lifetime best performances this year‚ many believe she can easily break the 1:53.28 world record mark. The Olympic record stands at 1:53:43.
