Bank burglary, robbers flee empty handed

Anyone who may have information regarding the incident are to call their nearest police station.

POLOKWANE – Police rushed to a shopping centre in Mankweng just after 23:00 on Wednesday 17 August after they received a call of a robbery inside one of the banks.

According to Provincial Police Spokesperson Col Ronel Otto the police arrived on the scene and started searching for the robbers, but they had already fled the scene.

She said that the robbers gained access through the roof of the bank, a hole was cut and that police are investigating a case of burglary business.

No arrests were made and nothing was stolen, Otto said.

She urged anyone who may have information on the matter to call their nearest police station.
