6 awaiting trail prisoners escape from police cells

The men are to be considered armed and dangerous

LIMPOPO – Limpopo police are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of four of the six awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from the Witpoort police cells on Thursday morning to contact the police.

Two of the six suspects who escaped, Moses Modimola (24) and Jerry Machaba (28), were re arrested last night at Boksburg Gauteng.

“The search for the remaining suspects, Silence Duba (23), Thomas Chuma (29), Clifford Muhonhori (33) and Phineas Malangoane (36) continues,” says provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

The men were previously arrested on charges of rape, armed robbery and are to be considered armed and dangerous she adds.

“Public are advised not to approach them but rather liaise with the police.”

The circumstances around the escape are still being investigated she concludes.
