The new main office building of the Capricorn College for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Market Street, costing close to R80 million, was handed over by the contractor two Fridays ago.
The project started during September 2013 and Alfred van der Merwe, acting Deputy Principal Finance of the College, confirmed that the procurement process for furniture and fittings is in a final stage and that staff will move into their new offices within the near future.
“The building provides for an academic board room with 52 seats as well as a council chamber with 26 seats and every department has its own boardroom. Two kitchens, a dining room, a small library and a staff room complement the open plan and closed offices for 95 staff members,” Van der Merwe said.
Parking for 45 vehicles are provided on the ground level of the six-storey building.
The TVET College has campuses in Polokwane, Seshego, Ramakgopa and Senwabarwana, as well as a satellite campus at the Bokoni Mine near Burgersfort.
