Courier company employees come to aid of injured woman

Claudette Roux's car overturned on the R71 recently while she was trying to avoid a collision with another vehicle.

POLOKWANE – Roux spoke to Review about the events that took place on 25 July. She was travelling back to Tzaneen from Polokwane at 06:00 about 2km before Nobody when a white bakkie swerved in front of her vehicle.

“I had to swerve out to avoid a collision and lost control of my vehicle in the process.

“I swerved off the road and hit a pole which caused my vehicle to overturn,” she explains.

She says after what felt like an eternity, a courier van stopped and four friendly men helped her out of the overturned vehicle.

“I am very grateful to them for helping me out of my vehicle and gathering all my valuables,” she says. Roux says she hurt her back during the accident and is thankful that is the only injury she sustained.

According to Roux, everything after the moment of impact is a blur and she still can’t recall which courier company’s employees stopped to help her.

Roux is recovering well from the accident, however, her car was written off as a result of the damage.
