Missing girl’s (16) body discovered in river

The police in town are searching for a suspect

LIMPOPO – A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death of a 16-year-old girl who was killed and her body was dumped in a small river in Phalaborwa.

The police in town are looking for a suspect said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

According to information, Karen Manyama left her home at Alwyn Street on Saturday 6 August to meet friends at a local restaurant and she never returned home.

Police began investigating after she was reported missing added Otto.

On Tuesday 9 August, a member of the community alerted the police about a body he saw between river reeds in a small river. The body was partially wrapped in plastic and it was confirmed that it was the body of the missing girl.

No arrests have yet been made and members of the community who might have any information is requested to contact the investigating officer Cst Maluleke at 078 269 2226 concluded Otto.
