Forensic investigators deployed to Vuwani

Limpopo Government condemn the burning of the classrooms at the Mugoidwa Secondary School in Tshivhulana Village on Tuesday night

LIMPOPO – SAPS forensic team are at the scene in Vuwani to investigate what caused the fire that gutted three classrooms at Mugoidwa Secondary School in Tshivhulana Village on Tuesday night.

Spokesperson for Vuwani police, WO Elijah Malatji said the outcome of the forensic investigation will determine what case will be opened, arson being one of them.

“Everything in the three classroom was destroyed in the fire,” he confirmed.

Limpopo Spokesperson for Education, Dr Naledzani Rasila said they have moved learners into other classrooms in order to continue with lessons.

“I’m happy that learners and educators are coping with the situation and in all schools in the Vuwani and the surrounding areas teaching continues undisturbed. I have visited seven schools in the area and learning is going on without any disruption,”said Rasila.
In the meantime the Limpopo Government have released a media statement condemning the burning of a school in Vuwani last night.

We appreciate the fact that learners and teachers came to school despite the incident last night. This shows the level of commitment in ensuring that quality learning and teaching continues in our schools.
