After the immense fun of last year’s Color Run, many residents are waiting in anticipation for this year’s edition.
“My colleagues and I brought our families and we all enjoyed the day together. It was a great team building exercise and my son loved dousing me in coloured powder,” says Lea Basson. The Color Run will be transforming Polokwane into a colourful wonderland on 13 August and Polokwane Observer is the official print media sponsor of this vibrant event.
This unique race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality and community spirit has exploded in colour across the planet and is the single largest event series in the world.
Unique to this year’s events, The Color Run introduces ‘The Rainbow Tour’, which is set to see runners, walkers, joggers, and skippers enter the course in pristine white T-shirts and cross the finish line doused in a kaleidoscope of colour. The run will kick off at Mitchell House at 09:00 and tickets cost R250 each. Children under 10 years run for free. Tickets are available at www.thecolorrun.co.za. Color Runners will each receive a race pack which includes a Rainbow Tour edition race T-shirt, headband, bag of colour powder, temporary tattoos and a race number.
Additionally, every runner will receive a R200 voucher from Superbalist.com to be redeemed against a minimum spend of R650 through the Superbalist app.
All registered Color Runners must collect their participation packs on 11 and 12 August at the special collection Race Pack Pick Up point that will be set up at Mitchell House. Runners must bring their IDs as well as the barcoded tickets or purchase receipts printed out or on a smart phone in order to be scanned in. Only fully paid up runners get the full Runners Pack and all runners younger than 10 years need to be registered at the Race Pack Pick Up point and display their official safety wristband completed with their name and their guardian’s contact details during the race.
There is still time for one lucky Polokwane Observer reader to win a double ticket for this year’s Color Run. See competition details below.
