EFF open pointing of firearm case, police investigate

A pointing of firearm case was opened after a member from the security detail of the MEC of Health allegedly pointed a firearm at an EFF member say the police.

LIMPOPO – The incident in question happened yesterday (Wednesday) at 13:40 near a hall at the University of Venda in Thohoyandou, when tension arose between supporters of the ANC and EFF over loud music being played by ANC members said provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.

“It is alleged that a member of the EFF switched off the sound system before the MEC for Health could address the audience.”

The security guard allegedly pointed the firearm at the EFF member. No shots were fired and nobody was injured.
The incident was not related to the election and voting was not disrupted in any way added Otto.
Investigations are ongoing. No arrests have been made as yet she concluded.
