Early payday for SASSA beneficiaries

Social grant payments for August 2016 have been brought a few days forward due to the local government election taking place on 3 August.

According to a South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) press statement the payment at pay points will run from 27 – 29 July 2016.

“There will be no payment at pay points from 1 to 3 August 2016 due to local government elections. Payment at pay points will resume on the 4 August 2016 until the last payment date,” reads the statement.

The money will be available without interruption as from the 27 July to 25 August for beneficiaries using other payment channels, e.g. ATM’s and stores.
