‘What is a little bit of pain on a bike, if the gain is donations’

The #RideforImke DebtSafe duo, Wikus Olivier and Frank Pretorius, were warmly welcomed in Mokopane

MOKOPANE – The #RideforImke DebtSafe duo, Wikus Olivier and Frank Pretorius, were warmly welcomed at the Mokopane Mall on Wednesday afternoon, by the employees of DebtSafe Mokopane and residents.

All were they to show their support for the men who bravely took on the 500 km #RideforImke from Pretoria to Tzaneen.

The Hoërskool Piet Potgieter cycling team met up with the DebtSafe duo at the weigh bridge on the R101 and rode the last few kilometres with them into town.

Three-year-old Imke Geldenhuys, from Tzaneen has the stolen hearts all South Africans as she battles stages 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. Her only proven chance of survival is immunotherapy in the US. A therapy which amounts to about R10 million.

Her brave story took social media by storm and in only 6 weeks more than R5 million has been raised.

Wikus said: “What is a little bit of pain on a bike, if the gain is donations that will but the treatment to save Imke’s life?”

Olivier and Pretorius will end their journey on Friday in Tzaneen at 14:00.
