Second Chance to guide youth in Polokwane

There is a problem with substance abuse among the youth and we want to use this opportunity to break through to the learners and get them involved in the fight against substance abuse in the city

POLOKWANE  – It is believed that of the leading causes of teenage delinquency is the absence of fathers at home and in the family structure.

Mothers nurture and share love, where fathers specifically establish identity and security in a child.

The Second Chance initiative is led by young men who have made their share of mistakes but have since changed their lives in order to help learners in schools to make the right choices and learn from their mistakes through the testimony they give at schools.

They endeavor to bring young people to a place where they can learn security and identity through life-changing and inspired testimonies.

Second Chance is an initiative launched specifically to reach out to schools and universities in South Africa and abroad. This is done through the sharing of testimonies and stories of hope.

These testimonies will soon be shared with learners in the city through inspirational speakers who have gone through certain challenging experiences in life and overcame them. Far North Sanca in Polokwane has committed to bringing a team of speakers to the city and having them talk to the city’s youths. “There is a problem with substance abuse among the youth and we want to use this opportunity to break through to the learners and get them involved in the fight against substance abuse in the city,” Sanca social worker, Amanda van Staden, told Review.

The dates for the Second Chance motivational talks will be announced soon.
