SAPS Operation Clean-Up successes

The suspects will appear before courts in the different Magisterial districts from Monday.

LIMPOPO – Operation Clean-Up, an intelligence driven operation conducted by various SAPS units in the Thohoyandou, Hoedspruit, Groblersdaal, Burgersdorp, Bele Bela, Dennilton, Letsitele and Seshego areas have made a mayor breakthrough, say the police.

According to provincial police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe: “In the past few days 31 highly dangerous criminals aged between 23 and 48 years old have been arrested for  serious crimes such as armed robberies, house robberies, house breaking and theft , possession of firearm and ammunition without licence and possession and dealing in drugs and dagga.”

The following items were recovered during the arrests: 3  illegal  firearms and 130 ammunition, 208 sachets of drugs, 332 sachets and 35 trees of dagga, 11 cell phones and various IT equipment and cash.

The suspects will appear before courts in the different Magisterial districts from Monday he added.

“Operation clean-up will continue focusing mainly on the crime infested areas. Members of the community are encouraged to support this SAPS operation by supplying information about crimes that have been committed or about those who are still planning to commit a crime.”
