Coverland Polokwane on Friday treated their clients to an open day where they could see firsthand what this roofing company has to offer and to show off their newly acquired roof tile plant.
Coverland officially entered the Polokwane market in September 2014 with a depot aimed at increasing services to customers. In 2015 the opportunity arose to buy the Technicrete roof tile plant and in March 2016 the transaction was approved by the Competition Authority.
Established in 1949, Coverland has evolved to become what is considered the largest concrete roof tile manufacturer in Southern Africa. Over the past 67 years their footprint has grown to include eight production facilities and four depots serving a national customer base.
Coverland is part of the Braas Monier Building Group, a leading manufacturer and supplier of pitched roof products in Europe, parts of Asia and South Africa. The Group covers all steps of the manufacturing process, offering a comprehensive range of concrete and clay tiles for pitched roofs and is one of the few suppliers to also manufacture and sell complementary roofing components designed to cover various functional aspects of pitched roof construction.
Headquartered in Luxembourg, their portfolio also includes ceramic and steel chimneys and energy system solutions. Braas Monier has operations in 36 countries and 117 production facilities and employs around 7 700 people.
Thanks to the new tile plant, Coverland Polokwane’s offering will now include six concrete tile profiles as well as a range of imported clay tiles, offering local consumers a much wider product choice.
Coverland Polokwane’s products include a wide range of roofing components such as RadenShield Radiant Barriers, Undertile Membranes, flashing and dry ridging solutions.
Coverland is the only concrete roof tile manufacturer with an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) architect’s presentation, audited and approved by the South African Institute of Architects.
