Global provider of risk management and human resource consulting and outsourcing, Aon recently reached out to the children at Bana ba Thabang Children’s Centre as part of a worldwide company initiative.
Celebrating its commitment to empowering economic and human possibility around the world, Aon recently held its seventh annual Global Service Day.
Volunteers in 50 countries spent 44 000 hours working with more than 450 charities to help make their communities stronger and more sustainable.
Aon employees at the Polokwane branch celebrated their Global Service Day at Bana ba Thabang Children’s Centre where they spent the morning interacting and enjoying creative work with 35 young children. The volunteers ended the day by spoiling centre personnel, volunteers and children with fresh cupcakes and fruit juice.
As part of the firm’s global mission, Aon’s company-wide service day provides staff the opportunity to take time off from their work to engage in supportive activities that focus on providing assistance to charitable organisations that serve communities at risk.
“The core of any corporation’s citizenship is how its business contributes to society and to the communities where its colleagues live and work,” said Landa van Wyk, Branch Manager at Aon’s Polokwane branch.
“Today we unite to give back to our local community in order to empower those who need it most.”
