3 paramedics injured in ambulance accident
An ambulance overturned on the Percy Fyfe road in Westenburg on Monday morning.
POLOKWANE – According to the Westenburg police spokesperson Constable Maphure Segobola , three emergency personnel sustained serious injuries. “The accident took place at around 8:44 in the morning. The ambulance overturned while trying to overtake a truck. Fortunately there were no patients in the ambulance at that particular time however, all occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital,” Segobola said.
According to Maphure, investigations are still ongoing and a case of reckless or negligent driving has been opened. “We still have not spoken to the occupants of the ambulance since they were rushed to the hospital but we are investigating the matter further and we are confident we will get to the bottom of what actually happened,” Segobola continued.
