Police clean-up operation successes

340 suspects have been arrested during the latest joint police cleanup operations in Musina, Makhado, Bela Bela,Modimolle, Dennilton and Westenburg, say the police.

LIMPOPO – “Of the 340 suspects arrested 212 of them are the undocumented foreign nationals with ages between 23 years and 42 years old,” said provincial police spokesperson Col Ronel Otto.

This suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from armed robberies, house robberies, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, Immigration Act to possession of drugs added Otto.

A number of illegal items were recovered:

  • 4 firearms and ammunition,
  • 260 rolls of dagga and 11 sachets of dagga with an estimated street value of around R15 000,
  • cat drugs with an  estimated street value of around R10 000,
  • 7 boxes of cigarrettes and
  • 1 suspected stolen motor vehicle.

The Provincial Commissioner-LT. General Nneke Jimmy Ledwaba warned all the criminals out there to refrain from all their criminal activities because no stone will be left unturned during this continuing operation.

“Community members should support the police by supplying information about any criminal doings in and around their areas as part of partnership policing,” concluded Ledwaba.
