BWA launches a women empowerment programme in Elim

The Business Women's Association (BWA) recently launched a new branch in Elim

LIMPOPO – According to Mmobogoshi Msiza, BWA Polokwane Chairperson, there is a misconception around the organisation as it appears to only cater for women who are already established.

The organisation provides networking, training, skills development and mentorship programmes. An award ceremony takes place each year in recognition of the achievements of women in business.

When she was elected as chairperson, she saw the need to reach out to women at grassroots level.

“We realised that in order to be relevant and make an impact on our people, we needed to accommodate women in rural communities, as Limpopo is largely a rural area,” Msiza explained.

Msiza has encouraged women to be change agents and to uplift and empower each other.

Msiza mentioned the Corporate Social Investment programme the organisation will launch soon, which will involve providing reusable sanitary pads to girls in rural areas.

“The pads can be washed and has a life-span of one year,” she explained.
