Dent Angels earn an honest living

For most people, a dent in their car is bad news, for panel beater brothers, Phillip and Pieter Harmse, a dent means they get to do their job and earn their keep.

POLOKWANE – The duo call themselves the Dent Angels and have over 10 years experience in the panel beater industry. “We have fixed dents on cars from all over the country, from Pietermaritzburg to Polokwane,” says Phillip.

The Harmse brothers currently operate out of a small building in the backyard of a business in the industrial area and car dealerships in the city regularly make use of their services.

Their only income is the money they make from contract work. They can do any paintwork, dentwork and bodywork on any type of vehicle.

“We’re panel beaters by profession and it’s a tough industry because if we don’t get work, we don’t get paid.”

The brothers remain positive despite their circumstances. “Our motto: We are hard on dents but heavenly on your pocket,” says Pieter.

They say they have been asked to take part in criminal activities but refused as they believe in Karma.

“We are honest people who need to work in order to earn a living. Dents on your vehicle are a headache and if we can take care of that headache, we’re happy,” says Phillip.
