Kekana wins court case against Mogalakwena muni

William Kekana has won his case against the Mogalakwena Municipality in the North Gauteng High Court on Friday morning

LIMPOPO – Kekana was previously expelled as municipal manager in 2015 during heated protests. In April, the North Gauteng High Court ordered his reinstatement as municipal manger.

However, the municipality appealed against the court order.

Kekana told Bosveld the ruling was made that he, as well as the expelled councillors should be reinstated with immediate effect.

I am excited to take back the reigns as municipal manager.

While the court hearing was presented in Gauteng, two ANC groups “clashed” in Mokopane, with one group voicing their concerns over the recent ANC nominations for the upcoming local government elections.

More than 70 residents from numerous villages in Mogalakwena were escorted by the police and traffic officials as they marched to the ANC offices in Voor Street to hand over their memorandum of concerns.

These residents were welcomed by more than 200 ANC supporters who are in favour of the recent nominations.

Among the 200 supporters were the former mayor of Mogalakwena Municipality, Tlhalefi Mashamaite.

Bryner Ngwenya, community leader, read the memorandum out loud, but it was not handed over as planned.
