Planned power outage due to emergency maintenance

Polokwane residents are warned of a power outage in certain parts of the city on Sunday evening through to Monday morning.

POLOKWANE – According to municipal spokesperson, Matshidiso Mothapo the municipality must conduct emergency repairs on a burnt isolator at the Delta substation.

“The repairs will be conducted on Sunday (3 July) from 23:00 to 05:00 Monday (4 July).”

The areas that will be affected include: Bendor, Sterkpark, Welgelegen, Koppiesfontein, Industrial area east of LTT road (Magnavia), Thornhill, Mall of the North, Savannah Mall, Netcare Pholoso Hospital and the area east of McDonald Street. The substation will also be affected.

“The municipality will pull all available resources to ensure that power is restored according to the plan,” Mothapo adds.

Warning to residents:

Residents and members of the public are advised that all electrical connection and wires should be treated as live and that all electrical appliances including geysers should be switched off to avoid damage when power is restored.
