No bail for accused in illegal possession of endangered animal body parts case

The three suspects Peter Nathi (41) , Alone Mapfumari (41) and Phenius Mngomezulu (34) charged with the illegal possession of endangered animal(white lion) reappeared before the Namakgale Magistrate Court on Monday.

LIMPOPO – The suspects were arrested earlier this month after a vehicle searched whereby memebers from the Rhino Project Task Team found a bag containing four white lion claws, a head and a tail.

According to provincial police spokesperson, Col Malesela Ledwaba the case has been transferred to the Tzaneen Magistrat’s Court.

No bail was granted and the suspects remain in custody until their next court date on 29 June.
