Five in court for armed robbery
Five suspects appeared in the Mokopane Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in connection with armed robbery in Chroompark on 8 June.
MOKOPANE – The suspects, aged between 26 and 34, where arrested by the police on Sunday night.
According to the Mokopane Police Spokesperson, Sgt Irene Masingi: “The suspects overpowered the victim at around midnight after they poisoned his dog and forced their entrance into his house by using a crowbar.”
Masingi further stated that the suspects assaulted the victim and tied his hands and feet with electric cords. “No shots were fired and the victim only sustained minor injuries.”
After they rampaged the house they fled with R12 000 cash and goods to the estimated value of R200 000.
The suspects appeared on the charge of house robbery. The case has been postponed to 1 July.
The suspects remain in custody.
