Three more arrested with white lions parts

3 male suspects have been arrested after found to be in possession of endangered animals species parts about 12km from Namakgale near Phalaborwa on the R71 road on Sunday (yesterday), say the police.

LIMPOPO –  According to information the Rhino Project Task Team members were on patrol when they stopped and searched  a white Toyota bakkie with a Limpopo registration number at about 05:30 yesterday morning said provincial police spokesperson Col Malesela Ledwaba.

“Upon searching the vehicle they found a bag containing four white lion claws, a head and a tail,” added Ledwaba.

The three suspects aged between 34 and 41 are expected to appear before Namakgale Magistrate Court today (Monday) on charges of illegal possession of protected animal species.
