The ANC Women’s League (ANCWL) hosted a business breakfast to engage with members and local businesswomen at a venue in the city last Wednesday morning.
The theme was “Government and business engagement beyond local elections” and was attended by Premier Stan Mathabatha, Joy Matshoge, ANCWL Provincial Chairperson and MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Nandi Ndalane, MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture and Makoma Makhurupetje, MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs.
Matshoge informed guests that an amount of R120 million was raised by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Job Fund to strengthen the Nwanedi Agricultural Programme where a pack house will be built and capacity building on purchasing of inputs will be promoted. “There will be 150 beneficiaries,” Matshoge said and added that a summit will be hosted later this year for businesswomen to engage with government regarding challenges and obstacles facing businesswomen when participating in the economy.
