38 learners will be a little warmer thanks to V-dub Crew

The Westenburg V-dub Crew donated 38 pairs of brand new school shoes to learners at Good Hope Primary School on Friday.

POLOKWANE – The crew recently established that there are a lot of children who go to school barefoot and approached the school and asked the principal, Cindy Buys, to identify learners who do not have school shoes.

After the  school  provided the crew with a list of children who needed school shoes along with their shoe sizes the crew raised money among themselves and bought the shoes for the learners.

“It is winter and it is very cold, especially in the mornings, and it is sad to see how some children walk to school barefoot. A person wearing shoes gets cold, now I can only imagine how a child with no shoes feels and that is why we decided to have the School Shoe Run. Each member bought a pair of shoes, some even more than one pair, and now we are handing over the new school shoes to the learners at Good Hope Primary School,” Conroe Ross, President of the Westenburg V-dub Crew explained.

Buys thanked the crew for their donation.

“It is good to know that there are young men in the community who care for others. I know this donation will make a big difference in the lives of our children and it will keep them warm this winter. It warms my heart to know that the majority of the members in the Westenburg V-dub Crew were my learners who I taught at Westenburg Secondary School years ago. Keep up the good work you are doing in your community and surrounding areas. You have grown to be fine young men and the Lord will richly bless you for the good work you are doing to change the lives of the people around you,” Buys said.
