[VIDEO] Protest action in Mandela Drive, police on scene

Police are currently on the scene monitoring the situation.

Angry protesters earlier this morning blocked Mandela Drive near Disteneng with burning tyres and rocks. The protest action later moved to Ext 444 on the Matlala rd.

Westenburg Police Spokesperson Capt Mohlaka Mashiane, says up to now there has been no damage to property and Mandela Drive that were earlier blocked due to the protests is now open.

“We are currently engaging with the protesters and police are maintaining a strong presence in the area.”

Motorists in the area are warned to be cautious.
