This year the Polokwane Show and Music Festival promises to be different from previous years with the hosting of a comedy show and various artists that will be making their first appearance on the festival’s stage
Show organiser, Lelané van der Merwe said visitors to the show should not miss the comedy show featuring Frank Opperman, Dowwe Dolla and Radio Raps.
Those interested will need a VIP ticket at R200 to attend the show.
“This year we will also have an open air stage with artists such as Arno Jordaan on Wednesday evening and local artists showing their talents on Thursday. Friday evening is sure to be a hit with artists such as Harrison Crump, Ceezona, Vic Mash, Jey Khei, Steve Group, Pitch Black Afro, Sido & Manana, Blek Cyza. Brian Q, Unleashed and DJs Tazz the Madness, Toxic Peterson, Extreme and Ace SA will also be on stage to provide some pumping music,”
The Saturday line-up will include Sonja Heroldt en Tjokker for the children followed by Lourens the Storyteller, Irene-Louise van Wyk, Elvis se Seun, André Venter and Adam Tas.
Van der Merwe said the approximately 200 stalls will offer something for young and old, from serious shoppers to casual browsers. “As usual the Polokwane Show & Music Festival will host the fun fair where children can enjoy some adrenaline rushing rides.”
There will also be school educational programmes as well as campaigns by the South African National Defence Force, South African Police Service and Polokwane Municipality.
The popular Mrs and Miss Polokwane Show is scheduled for Friday at 14:00 and those who would like to see some serious muscle builders competing against each other should not miss out the Strongman meets CrossFit at the main arena at 09:30 on Saturday where strong and fit athletes will battle it out,” Van der Merwe said.
“It is our 48th birthday and we hope to make it a memorable year. Security personnel and Police will be on the terrain at all times to ensure everyone’s safety. We will not tolerate misbehaviour and no one will be allowed to bring alcohol into the premises or leave the grounds with it,” Van der Merwe said.
She reminded that this year the annual Agricultural Show will once again be hosted concurrently and farmers can look forward to some informative sessions.
