POLOKWANE – Many new moms will attest to the outstanding service of sister Mosoane, a pediatric nurse in Ward A, at Mediclinic Limpopo.
She started her nursing career as a Pen one student at Mediclinic Limpopo in 2005. “This means I was more of a caregiver. I worked hard and in July 2006, I completed my Pen 2 and qualified as an enrolled nurse,” Gerida explains.
Gerida is a mother of three and she knew that balancing home and work life would be a struggle but she believed it was possible through hard work and dedication. “I felt overwhelmed at times but I endured it to complete the race. I did not want to do it half way and wanted a medal to show my children that with hard work you can achieve your dreams,” she says.
She worked hard and in August 2008, she completed a bridging course which qualified her as a registered professional nurse with honours. She received the Tshwane region trophy for best student in the region.
Her colleagues describe her as a person who will always put her patients first and who loves children.
“My work can become hard when I have to deal with fearful parents, but I love the children and I love helping them. I am always positive no matter what.”
She makes sure her team follows her example and gives extra love, care and attention to difficult patients.
