2 female white lions poisoned, mutilated
Two protected female white lions were poisoned and their heads and paws removed
LIMPOPO – The incident took place on a farm in Lephalale.
According to provincial police spokesperson, Col Lt Ronel Otto, it was suspected that the lions were poisoned with a piece of meat, which was thrown over the fence.
The lions’ carcasses were taken to a veterinary hospital, where it was confirmed they were poisoned.
No arrests have been made, and investigations continue.
