Re-arrested ‘kidnapping’ suspects remain in custody

Two of the three suspects re-arrested for a separate crime, after getting bail in the Anisah Moosa kidnapping case, appeared in the Sekhukune Magistrates Court today (Friday).

POLOKWANE – Samuel Kubo ( 28 ) and Masilo Elias Gafane ( 33 ) are facing charges of armed robbery and attempted murder.

The Hawks Organised Crime Unit re-arrested Kubo and Gafane at Polokwane Magistrate Court immediately after they were released on bail on Thursday, says provincial Hawks Spokesperson, Lt Matimba Maluleke.

“The duo allegedly committed  an armed robbery at Apel Spar in December 2015. They fled with R400 000 and a firearm belonging to a security guard.”

He furthers says it is alleged that they shot at the police van which responded to the incident. No one was injured during the incident.

The case was postponed to 25 May for a formal bail application and for further investigation. The suspects remain in custody.
