Mobile classrooms delivered in Vuwani

The provincial government has distributed mobile classrooms to Vuwani and surrounding areas today

LIMPOPO  – Speaking at a prayer gathering at Mashau village on Saturday, the premier, Stanley Mathabatha, said he knew that mobile classrooms were not enough, but they would make a difference.

He said the burning down of schools was a distraction of the children’s future.

“What surprises me is that when the community is angry, they vent their anger by burning schools, but they don’t lay a hand on the bar lounges. I’m not saying they should burn the bottle store, it is just an example. Damaging of schools can’t be tolerated. Parents should stand up and say ‘no’ to this destruction,” he said.

Education MEC, Ishamel Kgetjepe, said they would work around the clock to ensure Vuwani learners were able to receive education.

“We need commitment from our communities to make sure they protect the remaining infrastructure they have.”

He has called on principals, teachers and learners to return to schools without fear as the police would patrol the area.
