Inter-ministerial committee visits Vuwani

Communications minister, Faith Muthambi said Vuwani teachers were expected to be in classrooms

LIMPOPO – Communications minister, Faith Muthambi has embarked on a back-to-school campaign, where she will engage with School Governing Bodies of the schools affected by the shut-down in and around Vuwani.

Muthambi  is a member of the inter-ministerial committee to restore peace and stability in the area.

She said teachers were expected to be in classrooms.

“Our message to the communities of Vuwani and the surrounding villages is that violence denies children education in a democratic South Africa. Children are better off in school than lingering on the streets,” Muthambi.

Muthambi will visit Matodzi Secondary at Malonga village, Sundani, Muthurwana at Sundani village, Mpofu Secondary School, Matamela Primary School at Davhana, Davhana Secondary School, and Malindini Primary School in Malonga village.

She will conclude her school visit at Nngwekhulu Primary School.

Muthambi thanked parents and learners of Ha-Mashau who cleaned up the mess at the schools that were burnt.
