Muni serves Mogalakwena workers with interdict

The Mogalakwena Municipality has served protesting municipal workers with an interdict, preventing them from entering the premises

MOKOPANE – The municipality has been at a standstill for the past five days.

According to Percy Nketsi, a representative of the municipal workers, they have been served with a court interdict, but have no idea what is written in the ‘interdict’.

Jabu Mashamaite, SAMWU chairperson, said: “this is very unfortunate as it shows the type of leadership that is within the municipality. We are back to square one, we are so disappointed with this step that the mayor has taken”.

He said they awaited to see what the court order stated.

Spokesperson for the Mokopane police station, Sgt Irene Masingi, said they awaited for the interdict to be served to the municipal. She said they were observing the situation.

Bosveld Review could not get hold of the municipal manager, Markus Mthombeni or mayor Parks Sebatjane for comment.
