Lesiba Simon Kekana (37) was found guilty on four counts of murder and one of assault during his appearance in the Limpopo High Court today (Tuesday) where he stood trial for slitting the throats of his four sons in September last year.
His legal representative reportedly read a statement during the court proceedings detailing his confession and admission of guilt for the murder of his sons Bokang (13), Keneilwe (10), Hlologelo (6) and Lekgoledi (4).
Judge Joseph Raulinga reportedly said the court is satisfied that the contents of the statement comply with the charges brought against the accused and that he was found guilty as charged.
Kekana has been in custody since his arrest shortly after the incident. Kekana and his wife Lorraine who lives in Gauteng, were allegedly not on good terms and had an argument over the telephone. After their conversation he supposedly killed the boys by slitting their throats.
Kekana also claimed that he attempted to commit suicide, but failed as Police and members of community at the time managed to force themselves into his house.
