Planned maintenance at Olifantspoort Plant

The public are hereby notified of a planned shutdown at the Olifantspoort Plant, which may affect the water supply to the city during this period.

POLOKWANE – According to a municipal media statement; “Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) hereby informs Polokwane Municipality and Capricorn District Municipality about the planned maintenance to be undertaken at Olifantspoort  Plant tomorrow (Wednesday 13 April).”

“The cleaning of the contact tanks at the plant will commence at 07:00 and is to last about 10 hours.”

All areas which receive water from the plant will be affected, but LNW says they will ensure that reservoirs are kept full before the maintenance work starts.

The municipality requests the public to use water sparingly before and during this period to ensure that reservoir levels do not drop significantly resulting in water shortage.

Residents are encouraged to report water related issues to the municipality by calling 0152902376/2001/2002 for assistance.
