Still no resolution, standstill continues

As the standstill at the Muni continues for the 19th day with no services rendered. The hope that the community had of a resolution, is starting to fade.

MOKOPANE – Percy Nketse, representative of the worker force, told Bosveld on Friday morning: “Yesterday’s meeting was nonsense, we are not happy and thus we continue with tools down.”

This is despite the fact that the Mayor, Parks Sebatjane has appealed numerous times to the worker force to return to work.
Municipal workers have downed tools since 10 March demanding the benchmarking of salaries according to municipalities with the same grading system be implemented.
Percy Nketse, representative of the workforce, commented.
“Again we will only go back to work once benchmarking as previously agreed upon is implemented. I do not understand why no progress has been made up to now as this issue has been raised since 2012.”
“With regard to our salaries, we have not been paid, but we call this month a revolutionary month and victory is certain. Our country will be liberated starting with the Mogalakwena Municipality.”
