Mogalakwena Municipality still at a standstill

It is now three weeks of no services rendered at the Mogalakwena Municipality since municipal employees downed their tools on 10 March.

MOKOPANE – The worker force is demanding that the benchmarking of salaries according to municipalities of the same grading system be implemented.

Mayor Parks Sebatjane, has hired outside contractors to provide basic service delivery.

Percy Nketse, representative of the worker force, told Bosveld on Monday, there will be a council meeting today (Tuesday). “We want to make it very clear the only way of us returning to work is if benchmarking is implemented. We do not want to hear that there is no money as that is a lie.  We have been asking for benchmarking to be implemented since 2012 and they have only made empty promises and nothing has been done so speed up the process.” Nketse further said: “None of the employees were paid, but we see this as a revolutionary month.”
