Premier wishes all in Limpopo a safe Easter

Easter message from premier Stanley Mathabatha

It’s again that time of the year when millions of Christians across South Africa commemorate the crucifixion of Christ Jesus.

It’s not only Christians who feel this aura and excitement, but also people of other faiths.

It is at this long weekend that millions of people decide to go home. Millions commute to Limpopo and through Limpopo to neighbouring countries.

Our roads become a sea of vehicles and unfortunately also a death trap.

Limpopo is also home to three largest faith gatherings at this time.

More than three million pilgrimage payers will visit the two Moria churches, and about a million will also visit UAAF at Nzhelele during the same time.

It is for this reason I wish to plead with all of you to exercise patience and Ubuntu. Without the two, we will not realise that another person has as much right as I have for the road.

The Easter Road Safety Campaign was launched in our province this year and it therefore says all of us should adhere to the rules of the road.

The visibility of traffic and other law enforcement agencies is only effective if we also self regulate.

Let us all arrive alive!
