[VIDEO] ‘Black Easter’ for municipal employees

"We call this month a revolutionary month, and we know we as well as the councillors and service providers are not getting paid" - Percy Nketse,

Municipal workers have downed tools since last Thursday demanding that their salaries be benchmarked according to the same grading as other municipalities.

“We call this month a revolutionary month, and we know we as well as the councillors and service providers are not getting paid” – Percy Nketse, representative of the Mogalakwena Municipality workers.

” We will rise above this situation, victory is certain.  South Africa is going to be liberated, starting with Mogalakwena Municpality.”

On Tuesday morning, Percy Nketse, representative of the municipal worker force, handed himself over to the police as he was charged with public violence.

Nketse appeared before the Mokopane Magistrate’s Court and was released on bail of R500. The case has been postponed to 22 April.
