Family of kidnap victim ask for space and time

Following the safe return of their daughter, the Moosa family has thanked the police and the public for their support and prayers

POLOKWANE – Anisah Moosa was abducted by three men on Tuesday in front of a family member’s house in Nirvana.

According to a family representative, she was forced into a vehicle after she was hijacked and taken to an undisclosed location, where the kidnappers demanded ransom for her safe return.

Various units of the police worked together, and a man-hunt led them to Lebowakgomo, where a shoot-out ensued, leading to the injury of three police officers.

The kidnappers fled into some bushes.

“She was returned home safely, and we would like to thank the police for their stellar work during the almost three-day operation. The family is convinced that the kidnapping had nothing to do with her duties at the SARS offices in the city,” said family representative, Yusuf Abramjee.

He said the family was grateful for all the police did to ensure Anisah’s safe return.

“The family asks for the time and space needed to recover from the ordeal,” said Abramjee.

Hawks spokesperson, Hangwane Mulaudzi said the police were still looking for the suspects, and urged anyone with information to come forward.

He said the police have confiscated the vehicle that was used in the kidnapping.
