POLOKWANE – “The suspect who allegedly identified himself as an employee of the Municipality of Sekhukhune demanded half a million rand from contractors for the awarding of water reticulation system worth 305 million rand for seven villages in the District of Sekhukhune,” explained provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto.
The police were alerted abut his activities and set up and operation with the Anti Corruption unit. “He was arrested in Polokwane after he collected the money and handed the contractors a fraudulent appointment letter,” said Otto.
He is due to appear before Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday 14 March.
