WATCH: EFF’s Buthane is removed from legislature

EFF's member of legislature, Jossey Buthane is physically removed from the Limpopo Legislature ahead of the provincial budget speech

POLOKWANE –  The MEC for treasury, Rob Tooley delivered the provincial 2016/17 budget speech at the Limpopo Legislature today.

Education has been allocated the biggest share of the budget with R27,2 billion, followed by health with R16.4 billion.

Tooley also highlighted that the provincial government had mad significant strides in providing basic services to residents.

“As at 2014 about 89,5% of households in the province have electricity connections, while about 91,9% of the households occupy formal dwellings. More still needs to be done as there are only 21,8% of households that have formal refuse removal and only 47% of households that have hygienic toilets. The share of households with access to piped water is about 62%,” said Tooley.

But it was the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) member of legislature, Jossey Buthane who stole the show. Buthane allegedly lashed back at the legislature speaker when she asked him to leave.

The police physically removed Buthane, while EFF MPL’s walked out.
