In this video Body Life trainer, Heinrich Wolhüter, shares four exercises you can complete for a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and Tabata workout.

POLOKWANE – Are you strapped for time? This will be no problem if you use Tabata training method.  In this video Body Life trainer, Heinrich Wolhüter, shares four exercises you can complete for a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and Tabata workout.

“HIIT consists of short bursts of training which are very good for people who are strapped for time. The training consists out of short periods of training where you get the full benefits for your time,” says Wolhüter.

The workout utilises a Tabata-method which means, for example, you do a workout for 20 seconds then you rest for 10 seconds and continue again with the workout for eight rounds.

“For this workout, you will do push-ups, squats, crunches and skips. With the skips you can use a jumping rope, but if you do not own one you can just do the skips without a rope.

“You have to do each of these workouts for 20 seconds then rest 10 seconds, you do each workout for eight rounds. You then continue to do the same for the next workout, for example push-ups first, then you continue to the squats and so on.

“This is a great way of increasing your fitness level and to get back in shape in a limited amount of time.”
