Modimolle protesters damage mayor’s house
Early this morning, the home of Modimolle mayor, Elizabeth Lekalakala was damaged by protesters, reported provincial police spokesperson, Col Ronel Otto

LIMPOPO – “An assortment of objects were used in the attack. The gate lights were smashed, electric cable cut off and the gate dented. No injuries were reported,” said Otto.
The road between Phagameng and Modimolle is barricaded with tree branches, stones and burning tyres.
“Rubbish bins have also been spilled over the road.”
According to Otto, the residents barricaded the the R101 road between Modimolle and Mookgophong, but the police have since cleared the area.
14 people have since been arrested following the barricading of the roads.
“They are still in the process of being charged. Not sure when they will be going to court,” concludes Otto.
