Cleanliness is close to Kulani’s heart

Kulani Mtileni (26) is the CEO of Polokwane Cleaning Ladies, as well as a clinical dietician

POLOKWANE – He was born in Tlangelani outside Malamulele and later moved to Polokwane. Mtileni obtained an honours degree in dietetics at the University of Limpopo, Medunsa campus.

He says he lost his mother at a young age and this taught him to be independent and to work hard to achieve better things.

“Growing up was tough, I was a cleaner at shopping malls so I could buy myself food and basic necessities to survive,” he says.

He further explains his mother loved having a clean environment and this gave him a love for cleanliness too.

A dirty place irritates him so he took it upon himself to solve this.

He says he realised there was a huge gap in professional and reliable cleaning services in the province and seeing unemployed woman, especially those who head families, was hurtful, which is another reason he started a cleaning company.

Mtileni also runs his own medical practice.
