Calling all birdwatchers… Birdlife Polokwane will meet again in March

Birdlife Polokwane currently has more than 100 members and is consistently growing even larger.

POLOKWANE – Birdlife Polokwane currently has more than 100 members and is consistently growing even larger.

Apart from bird spotting, there are photography competitions like the Photographic Bird Race and Garden Birds photo competitions.

The members of the newly-elected Birdlife Polokwane committee are in front Annelise Pretorius, Sandrie de Wet and Saartjie Venter. At the back are Nick Baglow, Charles Hardy, Julie Friskin, Mark Friskin, Derek Engelbrecht, Jody de Bruin and Joe Grosel. Lisa Grosel was absent.

Planned activities for the month of March include:

On 12 March birders will head out to the Mkhombo Dam which, according to Birlife Polokwane Chairperson, Joel Grosel, is one of South Africa’s birdwatching hotspots.

On 19 March, birdwatchers will head to the Turfloop Dam for some more bird spotting fun.

The next meeting will be held on 1 March at the Polokwane Golf Club at 18:00. The club meets the first Tuesday of every month.
