Dagga found near Groblersdal CBD

Officers of the Wildlife Investigations and Protection Services (WIPS) and the police discovered some dagga amongst shrubs outside Groblersdal last Tuesday

LIMPOPO – According to Sgt Tjoepie van Staden, a Marble Hall police reservist, the dagga was found wrapped in plastic bags.

Van Staden said the dagga discovery followed a tip-off on some of the troublesome spots around the town believed to be used to hide drugs.

When WIPS and SAPS officers arrived at scene near the town’s industrial area, they found the dagga stuck into a broken unused waterpipe.

The dagga, the street value of which has not yet been established, was confiscated and taken to the Groblersdal police station. No arrests have been made in connection with the discovery and investigations are ongoing.

Groblersdal police Spokesperson, WO Stanley Magaela, encouraged people to work with the police and report crimes in order to ensure a safer living environment.

Anyone with information can contact the nearest police station.
