Water to the city temporarily cut

According to a municipal press release water supply to the city might be affected due to supply being cut due to urgent repairs in the Penina Park area.

POLOKWANE – According to a municipal press release water supply to the city might be affected due to supply being cut due to urgent repairs in the Penina Park area.

“Residents and members of the public are notified of an urgent interruption of water supply from the Olifantspoort plant today on 11February 2016 due to repairs at the Penina Park outlet.

“Lepelle Northern Water has issued an alert that due to repairs, supply to Polokwane will be stopped. The repairs are expected to continue for most part of the day as they have to replace the isolating valve.”

“The Municipality and Lepelle Northern Water shall do all in its powers to ensure minimization of the negative effects on supply.”

Once again the public is advised to use water very sparingly by limiting usage to domestic use only – the public is warned not use the limited available supply for watering gardens, washing cars or any other thing except for domestic use

This will ensure that the reservoir levels do not drop significantly resulting in water shortage states the media release.

Residents are encouraged to report water related issues to the municipality by calling 0152902376/2001/2002 for assistance.
